DESIGN OF EQUIPMENTS

The Museum of the Royal Collections, designed by architects Tuñón and Mansilla, is a large building that extends behind the Royal Palace and the Almudena Cathedral. It will house the Royal holdings, exceeding 154,000 pieces of extraordinary diversity and richness.
Albayalde is collaborating with EUN Systems in the design of equipment to furnish 2,400m2 intended to hold objects of the Royal collection which are not in exhibit at the museum. The objects range from small (a watch, a jewel) to large (paintings, a carriage, a tapestry). After formulating solutions for Gordailua (Irun) and the stocks of the DHUB (Barcelona), this is the third major project that we have developed in the field of heritage warehouses.
In our project, which was competitively selected by National Heritage (part of the Presidential Ministry), the furniture that will preserve these objects and their distribution in the storage area was designed to ensure the best conditions of accessibility and circulation. In the coming months we will proceed to the manufacture, assembly and installation of the storage solutions and a modern warehouse management system will be implemented.
