On the occasion of the research and restoration project of this magnificent panel at the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum in Madrid, Albayalde has provided a technical consultancy service, consisting of the study and definition of the gilding techniques, in collaboration with the restoration and materials analysis department of the centre.<\/p>\n
Fra Angelico demonstrates great virtuosity in the gilding techniques used in this painting, both in terms of the high quality of the execution and the variety of techniques used: burnished surfaces, matt gilding, carved and punched fields, inscriptions, glazes in various tones and gradations, etc.<\/p>\n
